Let James, dba Going to the Chapel Wedding Musicians, provide for all your musical needs from rehearsal to reception. He has two music degrees from Belmont (Bachelor of Music in Church Music and Master of Music Education) and over 20 years experience in the field of wedding music planning and performance.

James is approved to play in Scarritt Bennett Center's Wightman Chapel (shown on left), Benton Chapel on the Vanderbilt campus, as well as the Belmont Mansion. In addition, he has performed at many popular venues around middle Tennessee such as Riverwood Mansion, the Hermitage Hotel, Cheekwood Botanical Gardens, Dyer Observatory, Two Rivers Mansion and Hillwood Country Club. For a smaller, more intimate setting, look into Skinner Chapel at Scarritt or Holy Cross Anglican Church in Franklin where James serves as choirmaster-organist.

This name has been replaced by Going to the Chapel which emphasizes a full service approach to creating any type of ensemble you desire. With his many contacts in Music City, James can subcontract instrumentalists and vocalists to meet your needs.

For many years James has specialized in Celtic weddings featuring Great Highland Bagpiper Gregory Martin Cutcliff of the Nashville Pipes and Drums (seen below with James at Wightman Chapel). Flute and fiddle are other popular additions.bagpipes

As your wedding music director, he will provide the best in traditional wedding repertoire, both classical and popular. His fellow players will add a relaxing touch to the prelude music as your guests gather. As your pianist, he can accompany singers, play your favorite love songs and movie themes, CCM (Contemporary Christian Music) and country. He'll also play from a repertoire of jazz standards, light rock and pop for receptions and can even bring a portable keyboard if your site has no instrument. Scarritt BennettWant a harpist or a singer? Let James do the work. He can arrange ensembles that include strings, flute, trumpet, guitar, etc. and when hired as your keyboardist will charge no management fees!  So sit back and relax, knowing your ceremony will be just as you've dreamed...maybe even better!
